After landing in Newark International Airport on Sunday, I came to the conclusion that things will be better than I thought they would be initially. I had a good time, the weather was tolerable, and she was in a much more uplifted mood than she had been the previous two visits. I'm inclined to say that I may even have had a great time. I did have to deal with some of the standard haranguing, but not in the usual way. Seeing those city streets over Newark at 10:30 at night, glowing and spidering like the inside of a microprocessor, gave me a feeling of almost disgust to be back in the armpit of this country. For the first time in my life I wished I was still in Florida. Those $7 pints of Guinness in Newark International on Friday didn't help my outlook on this state either.
