Firearms and Automobiles

I think that it's funny that everyone is talking serious firearms regulation after a man with a history of mental instability is able to buy a firearm and almost kill a congresswoman (while managing to kill six others), however, these same people wouldn't dare even dream of serious automobile license regulation when many people with a history of substance abuse are allowed on the roads once they've served their time.

Automobiles and firearms have one thing in common: they're both machines that can kill if handled incorrectly. Automobiles, on average, kill more than double what firearms do every year. Get over it.

Hypocrisy or just convenient politicking?
